Guided Tours

Overview guided tours for groups

On a guided tour of the Sachsenhausen Memorial, visitors are given an overview of the history of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, the Soviet Special Camp No. 7/No. 1 and the Memorial itself.

Using the remains of buildings and other traces that have been left, the guide illustrates how the camp was built and expanded, the conditions under which the inmates were detained and what their day-to-day lives were like between forced labour and the murderous actions carried out by the SS in the camp. The exhibitions address the reasons victims were persecuted and their various experiences, as well as the actions of the perpetrators.

At least two hours should be planned for an overview tour.

Guided tours in easy-to-understand language

The participants get an insight into the history of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp in easy-to-understand language and with descriptive visual materials. There are many breaks during the tour so that everyone can take time to reflect.

The tour in easy-to-understand language takes around three hours with breaks included.

Thematic guided tours

Guided tours with a specific thematic focus deal with selected historical matters, for example individual prisoner groups in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Thematic tours can be offered after a consultation and depending on the interest of the visiting group.

The themed tours last around two to three hours.
